DUI charges filed against Tamaqua man

Jason Thompson, 26, of 130 Hunter St., Tamaqua, has been charged by Summit Hill police with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police Chief Joseph Fittos Jr. said the arrest stems from a traffic stop on March 14 at approximately 9 p.m.

At the time, police stopped Thompson for an equipment violation and later learned he was under the influence of alcohol.

In addition to the DUI charge, Thompson was cited for violation of general lighting requirements.
