Mortgage foreclosures

The following actions were filed as mortgage foreclosures for alleged defaults on loans.

Deutsche Bank National Trust Co., 7105 Corporate Drive, Plano, Tex., filed against Johnathon Kaufman, aka, John Kaufman, and Rebecca Kaufman, 40 W. Patterson St., Lansford, over property at that address. Sought is $49,546.22 and continuing interest.

The Jim Thorpe National Bank, 12 Broadway, Jim Thorpe, filed against Max Gasker, 221 W. Columbus Ave., Nesquehoning, over property at 147 E. Garibaldi Ave., Nesquehoning, seeking $25,252.03 and continuing interest.

Citimortgage Inc., 1000 Technology Drive, O'Fallon, Ohio, filed against Steven C. Sensinger, trustee of the Kermit L. Sensinger Irrevocable Asset Protection Trust, 248-248 1/2 S. Second St., Lehighton, over property at that address. Sought is $65,369.79 and continuing interest.

GMAC Mortgage, 1100 Virginia Drive, Fort Washington, filed against Heather Blasser, 30 Nosirrah Rd., Albrightsville, over property at that address. Sought is $172,551.06 and continuing interest.

Nationstar Mortgage, 350 Highland Drive, Lewisville, Tex., filed against Yolanda P. Olk, 815 Fredericks Grove Rd., Lehighton, over property at that address. Sought is $60,805.47 and continuing interest.

Note default

Mauch Chunk Trust Co., 1111 North St., Jim Thorpe, filed an action against John W. Eckman III, trustee of the estate of John W. Eckman Sr. Trust, 84 E. Commodore Drive, Cross Hill, S.C., and Betty J. Eckman, also a trustee, of 322 Manor Lane East, Lehighton, alleging a default on a promissory note. Sought is $313,229.52 plus interest, costs and fees.

Township suit

Lower Towamensing Township, 595 Hahn's Dairy Rd., Palmerton, filed a civil action against its former secretary/treasurer, Dorothy Achey, and her husband, John Ruhe Achey, both of 1066 Chouan Drive, Joliet, Ill.

The township states that as treasurer Dorothy Achey wrote various checks to herself resulting in the township losing a large amount of money. The check writing occurred during the years of 2007-08 and 09, the suit alleges. The suit also states the couple had filed for brankruptcy in and around 2005-06.

Sought is a judgment of $81,067.35 plus interest and costs. (Note: Dorothy Achey has pleaded guilty to theft in the incident and is awaiting sentencing in the county court.)

Default on loans

Deirdre T. Hettler, 302 Coal St., Lehighton, filed a civil complaint against Shannon M. Hettler, individually, and doing business as Shannon Transportation, 135 S. Fifth St., Lehighton.

The suit states the plaintiff loaned the defendant monies to start a transportation business which included the purchase of two trailers and two trucks. Two loans were secured with the agreement that the defendant would make the monthly payments on the loans.

The suit alleges the defendant failed to make the payments. Sought are damages in "excess of the jurisdictional limits rquiring compulsory arbitration" with interest, costs and fees.

Divorces started

John W.J. Nickerson Sr., Box 88, Aquashicola, filed against Elizabeth A. Nickerson, 25 Bispham St., Mount Laurel, N.J. They were marrried July 17, 2002.

Joseph Wieand, 1240 Mahoning St., Lehighton, filed against Erica L. Weiand, 5972 Red Tail Lane, Evans Mills, N.Y. They were married Dec. 31, 2007.

Judgment sought

PNC Bank, 201 Penn Ave., Scranton, filed an action against Kripa Motel Group, 5224 Surrey Court, Allentown, alleging a default on a Confession of Judgment note for property along SR940, White Haven, Kidder Township.

Sought is $3,459,032.84 and continuing interest.

Credit defaults

The following actions were filed by credit card companies, or their collection agencies, alleging defaults on credit card/loan accounts.

Advantage Assets II Inc., 7322 Southwest Freeway, Houston, Tex., filed against Kurt R. Barthel, 12 Jonas Mountain Drive, Albrightsville, seeking $2,472.57.

Arrow Financial Services, 6108 W. Touhy Ave., Niles, Ill., filed against James McClain III, 352 W. Kline Ave., Lansford, seeking $6,412.90.

Chase Bank USA, 3700 Wiseman Blvd., San Antonio, Tex., filed against Sean T. Silfes, 73 Drakes Creek Rd., Jim Thorpe, seeking $17,571.71.

American General Financial Services, 562 Airport Rd., Hazle Twp., filed against Luther Hibbler, 259 N. Fifth St., Lehighton, seeking $3,084.31.

Citibank South Dakota, 701 E. 60th St. N, Sioux Falls, S.D., filed three actions as follows: Dennis J. Durso, 30 Highpoint Drive, Albrightsville, seeking $4,727.73; Kenneth Anton Nielson, 1026 Main Rd., Lehighton, seeking $4,148.52; and Kimberly L. Edwards, 131 Gower Rd., Albrightsville, seeking $5,898.23.
