Man nabbed at scene of break-in

A Northampton County man is in the Monroe County prison after be was caught in the act of breaking into the Pocono Community Bank branch office located along SR209, in Chestnuthill Township, early on Tuesday, April 6.

State police at Fern Ridge said troopers responded to the bank about 4:06 a.m. after receiving an alarm activation. Upon arrival troopers searched the area and found a man. He attempted to flee but following a short foot chase he was caught and taken into custody.

The suspect was identified as Juan Rodriguez-Rodriguez, 20, of Easton. Troopers said his vehicle was found in a lot near the bank. Troopers said he broke a rear window to gain entry to the bank.

Rodriguez was arraigned before District Judge Debbie York, of Brodheadsville, and placed in the county prison in Snydersville after failing to post $50,000 straight cash bail. He was charged with burglary and related counts, troopers said.
