Fugitive arrested at federal prison
A fugitive from justice was arrested as he was released from a federal prison in Schuylkill County.
State police at Frackville said Brandon Short, 29, of Ohio, was arrested about 9 a.m. on Friday, April 2, as he was released from the federal prison in Butler Township, near Minersville. Troopers said Short had a active warrant for his arrest out of Ohio.
Short was arraigned before District Judge Steven Bayer, of Tamaqua, and was unable to post the $50,000 bail set and was remanded to the county prison in Pottsville to await extradidtion to Ohio.
