Credit defaults
The following actions were filed by credit card companies, or their collection agencies, for alleged defaults on credit card accounts/loans.
Capital One Bank, 4851 Cox Rd., Glen Allen, Va., filed against Paul F. Miller, 338 Held St., Lehighton, seeking $1,906.46.
Discover Bank, 6500 New Albany Rd., New Albany, Ohio, filed six actions as follows: Robert C. Kresge, 156 W. White St., Summit Hill, seeking $8,138.69; Shelly Ann Kehley, 1720 Little Gap Rd., Palmerton, seeking $4,417.32; Robert L. and Robin H. Smith, 306 Maple Ave., Lehighton, seeking $14,117.41; Rhonda A. HSBC Bank Nevada, 1111 Town Center Drive, Las Vegas, Nev., filed three actions as follows: Anthony L. Daddona, 26 Wintergreen Lane, Jim Thorpe, seeking $3,286.66; Darlene E. Pazo, 125 State Rd., Lehighton, seeking $1,502.11; and Barry D. Weaver, 490 N. First St., Lehighton, seeking $13,024.61.
LVNV Funding, c/o 120 N. Keyser Ave., Scranton, filed against Beth Dennis, Box 51, Lansford, seeking $2,940.63.
Assault suit
John and Desiree Whittaker, 642 N. Laurel St., Hazleton, filed a civil complaint against Robert Brisling, 14 N. Chestnut St., Tresckow.
The suit states on Oct. 27, 2009, John Wittake and the Brisling were at 9023 Annapolis Rd., Lanham, Md., when the defendant "suddenly and without warning jumped on the back" of the plaintiff forcing him to the ground. It is further alleged that the defendant began to beat and strike the plaintiff about the head, neck and back causing serious injuries that are detailed in the suit.
A judgment of damages is sought against the defendant in excess of $50,000 on each of three counts.

Scott J. Matthews Jr., Box 7, Albrightsville, filed against Carol-Lynn Matthews, same address. They were married July 19, 2000.
Marianne R. Pettis, 55 Beaver Drive, Albrightsville, filed against Scott A. Pettis, Box 587, Saylorsburg. They were married Jan. 29, 1995.
Aricia S. Pfeiffer, 33 Springgarden St., Lansford, filed against Howard Pfeiffer II, 310 E. Patterson St., Lansford. They were married Sept. 24, 1994.
William T. Kleppinger Jr., 216 S. First St., Lehighton, filed against Lisa M. Kleppinger, 1 East Alley, Lehighton. They were married Sept. 30, 2004.
Patrick Roth, 45 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, filed against Jennifer Roth, same address. They were married Dec. 9, 1995.
Loan default
Ford Motor Credit Co., Box 6508, Mesa, Ariz., filed a complaint against Premier Alarm Services Inc. and Natalie Kerrick, both of 118 Fern St., Jim Thorpe, alleging a default on motor vehicle installment sales contracts. Sought is $11,559.40 plus interest, costs and fees.
