Schuylkill man facing charges

A Schuylkill County resident is facing charges of armed robbery.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Van Daivd Vesay Jr., 24, of Minersville, was arrested for harassment about 6:50 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, at 1 N. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove. At that location he allegedly punched Robert Deitrich, 40, of Pine Grove, in the mouth during a verbal altercation.

After being charged Vesay was turned over to Minersville police who charged him with the armed robbery of a convenience store in that borough on Friday evening. He was arraigned on various charges related to the robbery and committed to the county prison in Pottsville in lieu of bail.
