Thefts investigated in Tamaqua

Tamaqua police apprehended a 15-year-old Tamaqua male early Thursday morning after enhanced security measures observed him entering cars and removing items. The juvenile was taken into custody at 1:20 a.m. in the area of Mauch Chunk Street with numerous items in his possession. The items included two pipes with marijuana residue and a global positioning system.

A second male was briefly detained.

Police are continuing the investigation and charges are pending.
