State police at the Frackville barracks said one person suffered minor injuries in a three-vehicle mishap Wednesday, Marach 17, at 5:40 p.m. at the intersection of McKnight and Hobart streets in the borough of Gordon.

Police said William S. Quick, 23, of Mahanoy City, was driving south on McKnight Street when he failed to stop in time for traffic stopped at the intersection. His vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle operated by Rodney Mallams, 83, of Ashland, pushing that vehicle into the rear of a car driven by Wayne E. Wetzel, 56, of Gordon.

Police said Mallams was transported to the St. Catherine Hospital, Ashland, by the Gordon EMS corps.

Police said Quick's 2000 Chevrolet Blazer sustained severe damages while the Mallams vehicle, a 1989 Dodge van, was moderately damaged. Wetzel's 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier sustained rear-end damages.

Police said Quick will be cited for a traffic law violation.
