Crash has DUI charge pending

A one vehicle crash about 4:51 a.m. Thursday, April 8, in Schuylkill County, has a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) pending against the driver.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said William Killian, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup truck northbound on Kurtz Road, about a mile north of SR443, in Washington Township, when he lost control while attempting to use his cellular phone. The truck went onto the east berm and impacted with a utility pole with the right front. After hitting the pole the truck spun 90-degrees in a clockwise rotation coming to rest facing north.

Killian was not injured but damages were termed major to the front end of the truck.
