A Tamaqua man has been cited for allegedly stealing two cell phones from a neighbor.

Officer Karl Harig was dispatched to a reported fight outside 12 W. Broad St., at 10 p.m. on May 13. When he arrived there were no signs of a struggle but a lone male was walking west in the area of the Subway Shop.

The man was identified as Ali Lasanta Walton, 21, of 12 W. Broad St., Apt. 201. Walton admitted being involved in an altercation with a man he knew only as Steve. Harig did a pat down search then asked Walton to empty his pockets. The contents included two cell phones, a camera and a magnet.

Walton said the camera was his girlfriend's and the cell phones were his. As the officer continued his questioning a woman yelled from 14 W. Broad St. that Walton had stolen her phones. Officers were able to determine that both cell phones were the property of Jill Caton, 14 W. Broad St.

Walton was charged with theft and receiving stolen property.
