Hershey Qualifying hosted by Tamaqua Boosters
The Tamaqua Track and Field Boosters is hosting a pre-Hershey qualifying meet for kids 9-14 years of age. This event is open to ALL students attending schools within the Tamaqua Area School District.
The meet will take place on May 22, 2010 at the Tamaqua High School Stadium.
The meet will start at 10 a.m. with check in being from 8:30 - 9:45 a.m. In the event of rain, the meet will be held on May 23 with a start time of 12 p.m. with check in being from 10:30 - 11:45 a.m.
Registration applications were distributed to the students at their respective schools. All applications are ask to be returned to the school by May 17. Registration on the day of the event will be limited due to time constraints.
Events will include the 50 meter dash, 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 800 meter run, 1600 meter run, 4 by 100 meter relay, standing long jump and softball throw. Events vary by age group.

@Breif.Head:Deppe Classic set for June 5
The 25th Annual Howard E. Deppe All-Stars Baseball Classic benefiting the American Cancer Society will be held on Saturday, June 5 at Fegely Stadium.
The raindate for the event will be held on Sunday, June 6.
An all-day ticket cost $5, which includes all games.
The event starts off with the Black team versus the Blue team at 2 p.m.
The Frank Yelinko All-Star Home Run Derby will follow at 4:30 p.m.
The evening caps off with the Red team versus the Purple team.
All games are seven innings without the 10-run rule in effect.
