Two Schuylkill businesses cited

Published May 17. 2010 05:00PM

Two Schuylkill County businesses, both from the same community, were cited by the Allentown enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violations of the liquor code.

The American Legion Association, 122 W. Main St., and the Lodge E Pluribus Unum No. 1447, Order Sons of Italy in America, 9 W. Main St., both of Girardville, were cited.

Both were cited for sold alcoholic beverages to non-members and sold malt or brewed beverages for consumption off premises. Both citations were issued for violations on March 20, the day of the St. Patrick's Day parade in the borough.

These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of license based on the severity of the charge brought.
