Monroe driver facing DUI count

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 16, along SR940 at Bill's Shop Rite in Mt. Pocono.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said they stopped a vehicle operated by Patrick Brunton 36, of Mt. Pocono, for a traffic violation. Brunton was found to have consumed alcohol and submitted to and failed field sobriety tests.

He was then transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, where he submitted to a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, police said.
