Bloodmobile
An American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be held in Tamaqua on May 26. The social hall of St. John United Church of Christ, Pine and Biddle streets, will serve as the collection site. Hours will be from 1 to 6 p.m.
Anyone 17 or older, who weighs at least 110 pounds and is in general good health is eligible to donate blood.
This visit is being sponsored by Bittner's General Store, Tamaqua.
Class of 1970
The Tamaqua High School Class of 1970 will hold a reunion in celebration of its 40th anniversary. The event will be held Sept. 11, from 6-11 p.m., at the Tamaqua Elks. The evening will include a buffet meal, cash bar and music. Dress will be informal.

Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts in the heart of Pennsylvania will hold a registration night, for their summer program, today, at the Tamaqua Public Library. Registration will be held from 5-6 p.m., at the library, located at 30 S. Railroad St. Registration is open to girls between the ages of 6-9.
There is no charge for the program.

TAHS Science Fair
Tamaqua Area High School's annual Science Fair will be held today, from 6-8 p.m., in the high school gymnasium.
In addition to science experiments, the evening will feature student art projects.
The event is free and open to the public.
Business and Professional Women
The Tamaqua Business and Professional Women's Club held its May meeting at La Dolce Casa in Tamaqua. Special guest Sgt. 1st Class Paul Shutter of the Hometown unit of the Pennsylvania National Guard provided a brief history of the guard, the many changes made over the years and current guard operations. Sgt. Shutter also spoke of the guard's enlistment requirements and the varied duties performed by its members, including assisting in national and international disasters.
President Mary Bridygham conducted the business meeting. Members were reminded of several upcoming events, including the State Convention, June 11-12, in Blairsville.
The next meeting of the local BPW chapter will be held June 1. For further information, contact Bridygham at (570) 668-3008.
Democrats to meet
The Eastern Schuylkill Democrats will meet today, at 7:30 p.m., at the East End Fire Company.
First Methodist
The Trustees of First United Methodist Church will meet today, at 6 p.m., followed by a meeting of the Ad Council at 7 p.m.
The Quilters meet every Tuesday, at 9:30 a.m.
Choir rehearsal will not be held this Wednesday.
The Rev. James Cavallero will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service on May 30. The service will include a hymn sing.
Crime watch
Tamaqua's rejuvenated Crime Watch organization will meet Wednesday, at 7 p.m., at Tamaqua Borough Hall. Regular patrols are being established.
