Band concert

The Cressona Band will perform in concert on June 16, at 7 p.m., at the Tamaqua ABC High Rise. This event is free and open to the public.

The Cressona Band performs show tunes, marches, overtures and music of yesteryear. This performance is being sponsored by Shafer's Pharmacy and Dr. Richard Chwastiak.

The high rise is located at 222 E. Broad St.

Gardening help

Penn State Master Gardeners hosts a gardening helpline, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., every Monday and Wednesday through Sept. 29, as well as conducting workshop sessions to help area residents.

Class of 1950

The Tamaqua High School Class of 1950 is planning an anniversary reunion. Current addresses are needed for the following class members: Sam Wall, Sonia Guresh Chrobak, Kenneth Smith, William Smith, Charles Yacovelli, Joan Kantner and Melvin Breiner.
