Arrests reported

State police at Lehighton reported on several arrests made by troopers in recent days.

On May 22 about 6:25 p.m. troopers stopped a vehicle at Hazelwood and Elias Circle, in Lehighton. The driver was identified as Jay Abelovsky, 22, of Lehighton. He was found to have a small amount of marijuana on him, troopers said.

Troopers reported taking into custody a person wanted by authorities in New Jersey. Troopers said Heather Byron, 26, of Saylorsburg, was found at Thrills Gentlemen's Club in Pocono Township, Monroe County, about 7:56 p.m. on June 5. She is wanted in New Jersey for multiple warrants. She was taken into custody and placed in the county prison in Snydersville to await extradition to Morris County, N.J.

A 12-year-old Weissport male juvenile is facing a charge of theft. He reportedly stole $50 from his grandmother, Ruth Binder, 67, of 217A White St., Weissport. The incident was reported on June 3 at 6:45 p.m.

Thomas Scott Scherer, 29, of Palmerton, was cited for public drunkenness following an incident at SR248 and SR895, in Bowmanstown. Troopers responded to that location about 6:56 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, to a report of an adult male asleep in the underground tunnel at SR248. Upon arrival officers found Scherer in an intoxicated condition. He was issued a citation and released to the custody of a family member.

Troopers said Debbie Ann Hawk, 44, of Weissport, was cited for harassment following an incident that occurred about 5:48 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, at 316 Bridge St., Weissport. Hawk allegedly slapped and pushed Jeffery Duane Hosier, 41, of Weissport, at the above-stated location.

Troopers said Nathan Alan Becker, 21, of Kunkletown, Polk Township, is facing charges following an incident that occurred on Friday, June 10, about noon at Dubler Trail Park. Troopers alleged at the time and date stated Becker scratched the left side of the vehicle of Richard Snell, 55, of Kunkletown, with his bike, then threw rocks and chipped the victim's windshield and struck Snell in the arm and chest area. Becker is facing a charge of criminal mischief, troopers said.
