Traffic stop leads to wanted person
A traffice stop in Monroe County led to the arrest of a passenger as a wanted person.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers stopped a vehicle about 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16, along Long Pond Road at Cottontail Road, in Tunkhannock Township, for a motor vehicle code violation.
The driver was identified as Veronica Vanhof, 36, of Scranton. Her passenger, Thomas Earl Everett Jr., 21, also of Scranton, had an active warrant for his arrest issued out of Lackawanna County.
Everett was taken into custody and lodged in the county prison in Snydersville. Vanhof was issued traffic citations and released, police said.
