Blue Sox raise record to 7-1

The Tamaqua Legion team upped its record to 7-1 to stay atop the North Division in the Schuylkill-Berks Legion lead with a 15-1 win over Schuylkill Valley.

The Blue Sox got another grand slam from Chris Pilla, while Mike Streisel hit a three-run shot and Ryan Palsgrove added a two-run homer for the winners.

Jordan Heisler got the win, allowing just one hit.

Chris Pilla and Smarr had two hits each for the winners.

Matt Tulio and Derek Breibolin hit home runs to lead the Buffaloes to a 10-3 win over Northern Valley.

Paul Mika pitched a complete game three-hitter, and struck out six to lead Elk to a 3-2 win. Mika held Delrose scoreless in six of the seven innings. Mark Williams had three hits, and Alex Gildea added two hits to pace Elk Lighting.

Elk Lighting-

Tow. Yankees

Several players drove home multiple runs as Elk Lighting blasted the Towamensing Yankees 27-16. Paul Mika (8 RBI), Mark Williams (6 RBI), Rich Smith (5 RBI), and Eric Swankoski (2 RBI) all had big days at the plate. Mika picked up the win, while striking out nine.

Elk Lighting-

Lansford Krajcirik's

After allowing six runs over the first three innings, Mark Williams settled down and shut out Krajcirik's over the final four innings to allow Elk to post a 8-6 comeback victory. Williams allowed only one hit to the final 17 batters he faced. Lukas Damian had four hits, while Paul Mika and Jacob Kusko had three hits each. Damian added three RBI.

Mark Williams had two hits and three RBI, while Rich Smith added four RBI of his own to back the strong pitching of Eric Swankoski in a 14-3 Elk Lighting win over the Towamensing Yankees. Swankoski allowed only five hits, while striking out nine over the five inning complete game.
