Woman charged with drunkenness

A Monroe County woman has been charged with public drunkenness following an incident that occurred about 1:27 a.m. on Saturday, June 26.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers on patrol observed a woman walking on SR611 waving her hands at police. She was identified as Jessica Simpson, 29, of Pocono Summit. She was found to be highly intoxicated and was placed under arrest, police said.
