Slatington man facing charges

Scott James McFarland, 45, of 403 Pine St., Slatington, is facing several charges, including driving under the influence of alcohol, as a result of an incident at 1:22 a.m. June 25 in the borough.

In addition to being arrested for DUI, he was also charged with fleeing and attempting to elude police, driving while his operating privileges are suspended and careless driving.

Police said the incident happened in the 700 block of Main Street. After police attempted to stop a vehicle that they observed traveling in a careless manner, the defendant failed to stop until he pulled into his driveway.

Police said he was transported to the Lehigh County DUI Center where he refused to submit to a blood test.
