A Tamaqua woman was cited by borough police for child endangerment when her 3-year-old son was discovered in a Pine Street vestibule on May 20 at 9:35 a.m.

Police responded to a report that the child had been in the vestibule in the area of 233 Pine since 8 a.m. The boy was transported by officers in a child seat back to the police station while his parents were sought. A witness said she had seen the child on the west side of Pine at Union Street earlier that morning.

Police contacted Schuylkill County Children and Youth to arrange for a caseworker to come to the station to attend to the child.

It was later discovered that Crystal Joy Milner, 24, of Pine Street, had called the Schuylkill Communication Center to report that it was her child that police had picked up.

Milner had been involved in a similar incident on April 2 where she had not been providing adequate supervision for her children, police said.

Milner was charged with endangering the welfare of children in both cases. Her two children were placed in the custody of Milner's mother.
