Presbyterian church

Beginning on Sunday, June 20, the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, will be on a summer schedule.

The weekly Sunday morning service will be held at 9:30 a.m. This will continue until Sept. 12, when the worship service will return to normal times. During the summer, there will be no junior choir, Sunday school or adult Bible class.

VBS is planned

The community Vacation Bible School will be held Monday through Friday, July 26-30, at the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill.

Sessions are scheduled from 9-11:30 a.m. All children from the Panther Valley area, ages 4-12, are welcome to attend.

Food distribution

The Summit Hill Food Pantry distributes food items to those who qualify in town on the fourth Tuesday of the month.

Scripture sharing

The weekly scripture sharing sessions at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will be held tonight at 7 o'clock. The sessions are held in the parish rectory.

Lansford

Altar servers

A training session for new altar servers at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will be held on Saturday, June 26, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Kenneth Medve, pastor, will conduct the one-hour training.

The only requirement to be a server is that the youth must have received his or her First Holy Communion.

Parents of interested youths can contact the pastor for additional information.

Vacation Bible School

St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, has announced the dates of its upcoming Vacation Bible School. It will take place on the mornings of July 26-28.

Registrations will be accepted on June 12-13 and 19-20 after all of the weekend Masses in the parish office.

The theme will be "Rain Forest."

The school is open to children 4-10 from any of the Catholic parishes of the area.

Coaldale

First Congregational Church

Morning Worship in celebration of Father's Day will be held at First Congregational Church at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 20

Vacation Bible School begins Monday, June 21, and continues through Friday, June, 25, from 6-8 p.m. daily. Activities will include: opening exercise, lessons, snacks, song practice and crafts.

The theme for the week is "Heroes."

The closing service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 25, following the school session from 6-7 p.m.
