Schuylkill driver facing charges

A Schuylkill County driver is facing charges following a incident that occurred about 9:55 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, in the area of 30 Porter Rd., in Porter Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Eugene Sattler, 28, of Williamstown, was passing another vehicle when he sideswiped a car driven by Scott Ferris, 45, also of Williamstown. After impact Sattler attempted to flee the scene and traveled about 200 yards before his vehicle became inoperable. He and his passenger, identified as Jeremy Richard Keister, 31, of Williamstown, then fled on foot. Witnesses to the crash were able to identify Sattler as the driver. He is facing misdemeanor charges, troopers said.

Troopers said a passenger in Ferris' vehicle, Jodi Ferris, 32, was in the late stages of pregnancy and was transported to a Pottsville hospital. No injuries were reported in the incident.
