ESRC volleyball

The Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission will sponsor a Summer Volleyball League for adults 18 and older. Registrations are now being accepted.

Contests will be held at the sand volleyball court at the Black Diamond Park, Coaldale.

The league is co-ed and teams may have between six and 10 players. Games are scheduled to begin June 15 and will then be held Tuesdays and Thursdays during the summer months.

Class of 1950

The Tamaqua High School Class of 1950 is planning an anniversary reunion. Current addresses are needed for the following class members: Sam Wall, Sonia Guresh Chrobak, Kenneth Smith, William Smith, Charles Yacovelli, Joan Kantner and Melvin Breiner.

Red Cross

The Schuylkill/East Northumberland County Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold its annual meeting on June 14. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at Harry's Grill, 14 N. Market St., Shamokin, and will include an election of board members.

Anyone who has donated blood, contributed funds or volunteered in the past year is considered a member and is welcome to attend.

Pre-registration is required and may be made by calling (570) 622-9550 or send an e-mail to redcrossed@comcast.net. Deadline for registration is 2 p.m. on June 11.

SS. Peter and Paul

A graduation Mass will be held this Sunday, at 8 a.m., in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

This Mass will be for graduates from the parish. Parish graduates from Panther Valley or Blue Mountain may contact the rectory at (570) 668-1150 to register.

Following the Mass, a celebratory brunch, coffee and doughnuts, will be held in the social hall for graduates and their families.
