DUI arrests
State police at Lehighton reported on three arrests for driving under the influence (DUI).
On Sunday, June 13, about 1:40 a.m. troopers stopped Barbara Ann Shipwash, of Palmerton, along Pohopoco Drive at Trachsville Hill Road, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, after she was observed driving erratically. She was found to be under the influence and transported to the Palmerton Hospital for a blood test. Charges will be filed, troopers said.
On Tuesday, June 15, about 1:53 a.m. troopers stopped Christopher Koehler, 18, of Kunkletown, along Frantz Road near Pennel Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for motor vehicle code violations. He was found to be under the influence and transported to the barracks for a breath test. Charges will be filed, troopers said.
Also on Tuesday, about 2 p.m. troopers stopped Norman Campbell Bloom, 53, of Kunkletown, along Vista Drive at Meixell Valley Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County. He was found to be under the influence and taken to the Palmerton Hospital for a blood test. In addition to the DUI count Bloom is also facing charges of counterfeit registration, inspection and lack of insurance.
