Summit Hill High Class of 1957 reunites
The Summit Hill High School Class of 1957 renewed old acquaintances and heard about the history of their hometown borough during its class-reunion luncheon on May 27 at Macaluso's at the Lantern in Nesquehoning.
The guest speaker was Lee Mantz, president of the Summit Hill Historical Society, who gave a PowerPoint presentation showing scenes from his book "Summit Hill," which was published last fall.
Class member Walter Williams conducted a ceremony to honor the eight deceased members of the class.
They include Helen Daderko, Wallace Kleckner, Diane Zimmerman Lambert, Peter Matrician, Patrick Rutch, Helen Ambrose Sahr, Roger Troeder and Eugene Yasson.
Class members sang the class song, to the tune of "Red Sails in the Sunset," with lyrics written by class member Donald Wehr, and the Alma Mater.
Class President Bruce Frassinelli, who served as master of ceremonies, acknowledged other members of the reunion committee.
Committee members included: Will Derby, Lorraine Fritzinger Martin, Gretel Malkin, Ann Marie Pisklak Lill, Martha Solomon Popp, Lucille Snyder Posh, Margaret Ellen Henry Rockwell and Walter Williams.
Those attending this year's reunion luncheon included Edna Brooks Paton and Gretel Malkin, both of Summit Hill; Nancy Heffelfinger Napoli of Lansford; Ann Marie Pisklak and George Lill and Donna Ruth Derby Nalesnik, all of Nesquehoning; Patricia Brobst Tini of Tamaqua; Will Derby of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; and Bruce and Marie Frassinelli of Schnecksville.
Also attending were Lorraine Fritzinger and Ed Martin of Souderton; Margaret Ellen Henry Rockwell of Levittown; Ben and Rose McMichael of Hamilton Square, N.J.; Lucille Snyder Posh, Martha Solomon Popp and Walter Williams, all of Bethlehem; George and Anna Marie Michalick of Stafford, Va.; David and Carol Mollard of Allentown; and Mary Ann Perbetsky and Robert Melvin of Paoli.
