Driver cited after Monroe crash

A driver was cited following a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 7:15 a.m. on Monday, June 7, at the intersection of Mountain View Court and Hill Crest Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

State police at Fern Ridge said Kristin Viscardi, 20, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 1995 Dodge Neon southbound on Mountain View and failed to stop at a stop sign and continued straight across Hill Crest Road and into a heavily forested area. The car came to rest about 40 feet off the road in trees.

Viscardi was not injured. She was cited for the stop sign violation.
