State police at Lehighton reported investigating several crashes recently.

A two-vehicle crash occurred about 10 a.m. along Indian Hill Road, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Gerald F. Strubinger, 65, of Jim Thorpe, proceeded from a posted stop sign without clearance and failed to yield to a 2000 Mercury Cougar driven by Jonathan M. Frable, 20, of Lehighton, and a collision occurred. No one was injured.

Troopers cited Strubinger for stop signs and yield signs.

A two-vehicle crash was reported on June 17 about 5:30 p.m. along SR209 near Hideaway Hill Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Jose A. Valdes, 18, of Saylorsburg, was attempting to exit a service station while Patricia A. Ransel, 61, of East Stroudsburg, was northbound. Valdes proceeded from the stop sign without proper clearance and attempted a left turn and pulled directly into the path of Ransel. Ransel's 2009 Hyundai Elantra struck the driver's side front and rear door of Valdes' 1993 Saturn SL1 with its front bumper.

After impact the Saturn spun 90 degrees and came to rest along the north side. The Elantra spun 90 degrees and came to rest off the south side of 209.

Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Palmerton hospital by West End ambulance, troopers said.

Valdes was cited for proceeding without clearance, troopers added.

A one-vehicle crash occurred about 3:04 a.m. on June 17 along Weir Mountain Road at Doney Road, in Polk Township. Troopers said Alyes A. Voulo, 19, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2004 Kia Spectra northbound and failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle traveled across its lane onto Doney Road and then onto the berm where it struck a tree head-on.

Voulo was not injured. Damages were termed heavy to the front of the car.

A crash was reported on Saturday, June 19, about 1:10 p.m. along Borger Road, a tenth of a mile east of Lobach Lane, in Eldred Township, Monroe County. Troopers said a 17-year-old male was eastbound in a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix when he lost control in a left curve. The car traveled about 300 feet while out of control and went onto the south berm. After leaving the road the car struck several small trees and brush prior to hitting a large tree with its left side.

The teen driver and his 15-year-old male passenger were injured and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. Damages were severe to the vehicle.
