Tamaqua man cited for mischief
A Tamaqua man has been cited after allegedly damaging the windshield of a vehicle owned by his friend.
Michael Brode of 24 Lower Rd., Tamaqua, contacted police at 11:38 p.m. on June 11 to report that Justin Startzel, 21, of 120 Hunter St., had just thrown a cell phone at Brode's 1998 Jeep striking the windshield in the area right above the state inspection sticker. The impact caused the windshield to break. The incident occurred as Brode was driving on East Broad Street.
Startzel admitted throwing the phone and was charged with criminal mischief to a vehicle. Damage was estimated at $215.54.
