Boy Scout organizes blood drive

Shane Bleicher-Otto, a Boy Scout from Troop 555 in Jim Thorpe, organized a blood drive for Miller Keystone Blood Center this week. He coordinated with Girl Scout Troop 4229, arranged for a film presentation and guest speaker and helped attract more than 30 local donors to the event. The drive resulted in 32 pints of blood from more than 80 percent of the eligible donors in the area.
