PVES third graders get dictionaries
The Panther Valley Elementary School third graders received 140 dictionaries from William Gardiner & Francis X. Koomar.
This is the eighth year that the presentations have been made. Each third grader will put their name on the inside cover as it
is their personal Dictionary to keep.
The goal of the Dictionary Project is to improve the reading ability and comprehension of all children everywhere.
Reading is the most important skill of all. It is the starting point for all economic and social opportunities this world
has to offer. Educators see third grade as the dividing line between learning to read and reading to learn.
Over 11,568,895 children have received a dictionary thanks to the generosity of sponsors through out the world
since the project started.
