Preliminary hearing set for Palmerton suspect

A Palmerton man accused of molesting a girl has been granted a continuance until next month.

Rickey Causey, 55, had a preliminary hearing before District Judge Bruce Appleton of Palmerton on Wednesday.

Appleton ruled that Causey's hearing has been scheduled for 9:45 a.m. Jan. 13. Causey will remain in Carbon County Prison in lieu of $500,000 straight bail.

Causey faces eight counts of aggravated indecent assault, five counts of sexual assault, five counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, three counts of indecent assault, two counts of statutory sexual assault, indecent exposure, corruption of minors, and endangering the welfare of children.
