The Tamaqua Salvation Army League of Mercy group spread Christmas cheer at the Hometown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center by passing out holiday gift bags, talking with seniors, and singing Christmas carols. The Salvation Army League of Mercy annually visits many surrounding senior centers and nursing homes promoting Christmas spirit and the love for the holidays. Here, Tamaqua Salvation Army Captain Gary Thornton, left, and Salvation Army League of Mercy volunteers spread holiday cheer and pass out Christmas books to visitor Nancy Willing, and resident Herman Lutz, on right.
