Barnesville resident Lisa Price's life has always gone to the dogs.

Price's book, "One Woman's Haven," tracks her life with dogs, beginning with Rusty, a neighborhood terrier who visits during her childhood bout with mumps, and ending with Josey, an endlessly happy German shorthaired pointer.

Price takes readers on a funny, sad, adventurous and finally optimistic tale of a life enhanced by an array of canine characters.

Dog lovers can measure their lives by the lifetimes of a succession of dogs. From the sheltered cushion of suburbia to a hopelessly dilapidated Pennsylvania farm, from the Appalachian Trail to the jungles of South America, through marriage, divorce and a search for love often as fruitless as trying to dig up a chipmunk, Price tells her story using a series of dog stories that will make you laugh, cry and, ultimately, look to the future as dogs see it.

Price has worked as a mall Easter Bunny, summer pool snack bar attendant, swim team coach, trucking company supervisor, foundry core maker, warehouse assistant manager, dog walker, newspaper reporter and freelance writer.

She shares an old farmhouse in northeastern Pennsylvania with four dogs, Josey, Lozen, Prairie and Alabama.

Her book was released through PublishAmerica. To purchase a copy, visit http://www.publishamerica.net/product86858.html.
