Lansford man faces DUI charges ... with an ATV

Lansford police have been busy dealing with a man allegedly driving drunk on an all-terrain vehicle, a skateboard assault and other misbehavior.

David Snyder, 50, of 520 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, faces driving under the influence, failing to have registration and title certificates, driving an uninspected vehicle and driving without insurance. According to Officer Joshua Tom, Snyder was caught on an ATV at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 25 on East Kline Avenue.

Tom smelled alcohol emanating from Snyder's face and Snyder refused field sobriety tests, telling Tom, "What's the point? I'm bombed."

Snyder also refused chemical testing.

Nesquehoning Officer Tim Wuttke assisted with Tom's investigation.

Greg M. Muffley, 26, of 114 Patterson St., Lansford, faces false identification to law enforcement officials and DUI-related driving under suspension charges. According to Tom, the charges stem from an Aug. 16 incident at Springgarden and Abbott streets.

at about 6:10 p.m., Tom saw a red truck traveling along Springgarden Street with two children unsecured and moving about inside the cab. he spoke with the driver, who identified himself as Marc Muffley, 27, of 47 Leisenring St. He said he did not have a photo license.

Tom checked the registration, which came back to a Greg Muffley. Tom warned him about having the children in safety seats and then cleared from the stop.

He later received information that Greg Muffley was using his brother's information to avoid prosecution for driving with a DUI-related license suspension. Tom checked with Marc Muffley to verify that he was the owner of the truck he had stopped. He wasn't.

Michael McFadden, 21, Nesquehoning, faces charges stemming from a July 5 incident outside 9 W. Kline Ave. Tom charged Snyder with simple assault, loitering and prowling at night. according to an affidavit of probable cause, at about 10 p.m. Tom received a call about a possible vehicle theft. Upon arrival, he was approached by a Nicholas Digiglio, who told him he saw a white male prowling around his neighbor's house. the man went onto the porch and was looking into the windows, he told Tom.

The man then walked over to the neighbor's vehicle, which had its windows down just enough for the man to reach an arm though. the man unlocked the doors and got inside, Digiglio told Tom. Digiglio said he went out and confronted the man, who quickly closed the doors and tried to strike Digiglio with a skateboard. the man threw the skateboard at Digiglio and took off running east on E. Kline Ave.

A Shawn Nunemacher was notified by his neighbor of the incident and called police.
