Thief finds way to GPS in unlocked vehicle

Mahoning Township police are investigating the theft of a GPS unit from an unlocked vehicle.

Chief Ken Barnes said the theft occurred between 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, and 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8.

It happened in the 600 block of Mahoning Drive East.

The 1999 Ford was parked in the driveway of the victim's house.

The GPS unit had a value of about $300, police said.
