Lessons learned for playing sports
Dear Editor:
How to take a loss, how to win, how to get along with peers, how to follow rules, how to be a good sport even when not playing the game. These are some of the things that children learn when playing a sport.
We in the Lansford AMVETS believe in the youth of our country. This is why the Lansford AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary gave small trophies to the 9- and 10-year-olds even though they didn't do that great. They showed up for the games and did their best. The trophies are for that reason.
We also believe that mere children should get involved in sports instead of getting into problems on the streets.
As it stands now, Little League in Summit Hill, Nesquehoning, Lansford, and Coaldale, can only come up with two teams. That's not right.
Thank you,
Robert "Ski" Siesputowski
