Driver facing DUI after Monroe crash
A driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) after a two vehicle crash with injuries that occurred about 4:35 p.m on Oct. 8.
Pocono Mountain Regional police were dispatched to a reported crash along SR196 in Mt. Pocono at the above stated time. Upon arrival officers observed two females, identifieid as Molina Garcia-Cepeda, 33, and Fany Gonzales, 31, both of Mt. Pocono, being treated by medical personnel. The two were later transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.
Officers then spoke to the other driver, identified as Robert Sais, 61, of Henryville. He was injured but initially refused medical treatment. In speaking with Sais officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Sais became uncooperlative and combative, police said, and had to be restrained. He then requested medical treatment for his injuries.
Sais was then transported to PMC where he consented to a blood drawn. Police said the DUI charge is pending the blood test results. Charges are also pending related to the accident, police added.
