Pocono arrests

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on arrests made by officers in recent days.

On Oct. 7 about 10 :30 a.m. officers observed a suspicious vehicle parked in a lot off Fork St., in Mt. Pocono, containing two occupants. The occupants were identified as Kyle Jumper, 41, of Cresco, and Laurie Mollica, 44, of Mt. Pocono.

An investigation revealed that Mollica had an active protection from abuse (PFA) order against Jumper. Jumper was taken into custody, processed and booked at police headquarters and then committed to the county prison in Snydersville.

Also on Oct. 7, about 5:12 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle along SR611 at School St., in Mt. Pocono, for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Aaron Lopez-Montano, 20, of Tobyhanna. While speaking with him the odor of marijuana was detected by the officers. A further investigation revealed marijuana was found on Lopez-Montano and inside his vheicle. Also found in the vehicle was packaging materials and other items related to the sale of marijuana.

Polcie took Lopez-Montano into custody and charged him with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and related counts. He was then lodged in the county prison pending arraignment.

On Oct. 6 about 11:06 a.m. officers stopped a vehicle along Summit Avenue, and SR940. Upon approaching the vehicle officers observed a large quantity of packaged meats from various stores on the floor of the vehicle. Through an investeigation police determined the meat had been stolen.

The two occupants were identified as Gary Counterman Sr., 42, and Saundra Rarick, 36, no addresses given. The two were placed under arrest and charged with receiving stolen property and reteail therft. The two were arraigned before a district judge and released after posting $2,500 bail each.

On Oct. 7 about 11:55 a.m. officers received a call by Pocono Country Place security of a foot pursuit in progress involving an individual who was attempting to gain entry to an abandoned residence along Millwood Drive.

Police arrived on scene and made contact with a person who matched the description given by security. He was identified as Taron Williamson, 19, of Tobyhanna.

After a brief investigation, Williamson admitted he was the person attempting to gain entry to the Millwood Drive residence. He was placed under arrest for criminal trespass and related charges. He was arraigned before a district judge with bail set at $2,500.
