The fall is more than just a season

Published October 17. 2009 09:00AM

Dear Editor:

As I walk through the woods I see the leaves change from their well known green, the peaceful yellows, and browns, I stop to think that summer's over and school starts and yet I often wonder why fall is a peaceful season. It's not too cold and it's not too hot. It's a season world wide known to all. It never hides. People see fall as another season like summer, winter, or spring, but fall is more than a season or time of year, it's a way of life, a joyful thing. No, not a joyful thing, it's more than that to me. Yet again it's a time for trick or treating on Hallow's Eve, it's also a time when my family gets together for Thanksgiving dinner. It's a time of year when we stop and take notice to the small things in life and thank God for them. It's also when we notice that yet again a brand new year is peaking out from under the covers and says "hello." You get another year older and another year smarter, time to put up and take down the multi seasonal decorations. It's time for Christmas, New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Independence Day, and back to old man Hallow's Eve and Thanksgiving. Finally as I take my walk through the woods, I finally know and knew that people nationwide all respect the fellow leaf in the season I and we all call FALL.
