Loss of a beloved pet
Bob Urban's column Saturday, Sept. 19, "A Friend When You're Alone," touched my heart deeply.
I've been an animal lover all my life. A dog living with me has a good life.
Wednesday, Sept. 16, after watching my Lasho Aspo mix dog "Angel" struggle for over a year with a serious heart condition and seeing her regress more each day, I knew her time was coming near.
On Sept. 16, my daughter took her and I to the vet, knowing I wouldn't be bringing her home. I said my goodbyes, hugging her, kissing her, and telling her how much I loved her and how sorry I was. In return, with her unconditional love, she licked my tears.
Sept. 26, 2008, I felt was my darkest day losing my dear mom, and it was. But losing my buddy "Angel" is no less painful. I'm completely alone now. No one to to watch out the window for me until I return, no one to great me and love me when I enter the house, so many memories it is absolutely devastating.
The mere absence of her presence is unimaginable.
My advice to everyone with a pet is love them all the time, be good to them all the time. their life span is short.
When they're gone, the emptiness, sadness, loss can't be measured.
Love you my Angel. I will miss you everyday until we meet again. Thank you for filling my life with so much happiness, love, and companionship for 14 years.
