Flu vaccine available to Tamaqua area students

Published October 05. 2009 02:55PM

The Tamaqua Area School District is offering inactivated injectable influenza vaccine (seasonal flu vaccine, not the swine flu vaccine) through the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

This vaccine is free of charge for all interested students, kindergarten through grade 12.

Paperwork was distributed to students on Monday, Sept. 21.

If you are interested in having your child receive the vaccine at school, please read the information sheet, complete the consent form and return to homeroom teachers by Wednesday, Sept. 30th.

Doses are limited and will be available on a first come basis.

Vaccines will be administered to those students with a signed consent form during the month of October.

For questions or concerns, contact the school nurse in the building in which your child attends school.
