Carbon crashes
State police at Lehighton reported on three crashes investigated by troopers along Carbon County roadways.
Troopers said a hit and run accident occurred about 12:01 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, along Forest Inn Road in Lower Towamensing Township. Troopers said Katie J. Frey, 19, of Palmerton, was driving a 1998 Jeep Wrangler southbound when another vehicle, northbound, crossed into her lane and sideswiped her vehicle. After impact the other driver continued northbound without stopping to give information. The other vehicle was described as a white in color pickup truck.
Frey was not injured and damages were minor to the driver's side door mirror and upper portion of the door.
A crash was reported about 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, along S. Dieters Hill Road in East Penn Township. Troopers said John Moser, 26, of Lehighton, was driving a 1987 Ford F150 pickup truck when he failed to negotiate a left curve. The truck struck the guide rail, then an embankment and some trees and various shrubbery.
Moser was not injured. He was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.
A one vehicle crash was reported about 12:20 p.m. on Oct. 8 along Reservoir Road, in Penn Forest Township. Troopers said Keith A. Kuehner Jr., 17, of Palmerton, was southbound in a 1990 Ford F150 pickup truck when he became distracted. He failed to negotiate a curve, traveled across the northbound lane, ran up an embankment, over the guard rail, and down a 50-foot embankment striking a tree.
Kuehner was injured but did not required medical attention.
