Bus loses cool

Published October 07. 2009 05:00PM

Patterson Street in Lansford was closed for more than an hour Tuesday afternoon after antifreeze leaked from a Trailways bus.

The spill happened when a hose blew out in the bus' cooling system, said Police Chief John Turcmanovich.

The antifreeze splashed onto the roadway from Center and Patterson almost into Coaldale, he said.

"The heaviest pour was in the first two blocks. The rest was just a trickle," Turcmanovich said.

Firefighters from American Fire Co. No. 1 covered the liquid with an absorbent material, and borough workers cleaned everything up.
