Monroe driver facing DUI charge

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident about 12:39 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, along SR209 at Bush Lane, in Chestnuthill Township.

State police at Lehighton said Fred Baumgartner, 49, of East Stroudsburg, was parked in the southbound lane with no lights on his vehicle. He was found to be under the influence and was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test.

Troopers said charges will be filed.
