Raiders qualify

Tamaqua clinched a berth in the District 11 boys soccer playoffs with a victory over North Schuylkill on Wednesday.

Tamaqua rallied from a first half deficit to edge North Schuylkill, 2-1, in a Schuylkill League game.

Tamaqua (7-10-1, 7-6-1), which needed a win or tie to qualify for Districts, looked to be in trouble at halftime as the Spartans held a 1-0 advantage.

David DeFiore scored an unassisted goal with less than 12 minutes remaining to tie the game for Tamaqua. Cody Estremera added the game winner in the final minute.

Tamaqua finished with a 20-2 advantage in shots.
