Allman, Spyro Gyra to perform

Tickets go on sale Saturday for three concerts recently announced for Penn's Peak.

They are:

• Greg Allman on Wednesday, Dec. 30.

• Bruce in the USA on Saturday, Feb. 20.

• Spyro Gyra on Friday, April 23.

Meanwhile, within the next week, three concerts are scheduled.

Tomorrow night, the unique rockers The Tubes perform. Opening for them will be NightWind.

On Thursday, Oct. 29, America makes a return.

Then on Friday, Oct. 30, the classic rock band Tesla will entertain.

Allman has written some of the bands hits: "Whipping Post," "Dreams," and "Midnight Rider." While playing and touring with The Allman Brothers Band, Gregg was releasing his own solo albums on the side.

In 1987 Gregg had a hit with "I'm No Angel." He then refocused his efforts back to The Allman Brothers Band which resulted in multiple Grammy nominations and The Allman Brothers Band's induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Over the last 30 plus years together, Spyro Gyra has amassed over 25 albums and sold over 10 million copies. In 2009, they received a Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Album for 2008's A Night Before Christmas.
