There's been a little shuffle at the top

There was a bit of a shuffle at the top of the grid picks standings after last weekend's results came in.

Joe Plasko shocked us all with a 13-2 week and grabbed a share of the top spot with Shawn McFarland, who has pretty much had his own way as No. 1 through most of the season. Plasko and McFarland are both tied with 92-38 records right now with Andy Steinmetz just two games out at 95-40.

Despite a 9-6 week, I still picked up a game on the leader and now trail by a mere six games and hope to get a little closer this time around.

So here goes:

JIM THORPE AT LEHIGHTON - This one is a tossup with the Olympians still clinging to a District 11 playoff shot, while the Indians would like nothing better than to spoil their neighbor's chances. For some reason, I think this is the week that the Tribe get the "W" and take a winning attitude into the weight room in the off-season ... Lehighton, 14-7.

MARIAN AT TAMAQUA - Blue Raiders won't hold back here as they need some momentum heading into the District 11 2A playoffs ... Tamaqua, 32-14.

MINERSVILLE AT PANTHER VALLEY - Panthers suffered a heartbreaker at North Schuylkill last week. This week they rebound ... Panther Valley, 32-6.

NORTHERN LEHIGH AT PALMERTON - Bulldogs haven't beaten the Blue Bombers the last three years. When you look at the records, this one should be a blowout. If Bombers don't make mistakes, they'll keep it close, but ... Northern Lehigh, 21-7.

NORTHWESTERN LEHIGH AT CATASAUQUA - Rough Riders are the surprise team of the Colonial League this season. They surprise the Tigers here ... Catasauqua, 21-14.

STROUDSBURG AT PLEASANT VALLEY - This is another one that's as close as it gets to being a "Coin Flip" game. I'm going to go with the home team here ... Pleasant Valley, 14-13.

POCONO MOUNTAIN WEST AT POCONO MOUNTAIN EAST - The Cardinals and Panthers go nose to nose in Swiftwater. Can East bounce back from last week's loss of the Ol' Oaken Bucket? ... Pocono Mountain East, 21-20.

PEN ARGYL AT BANGOR - There'll be a battle in the "Slate Belt" this Friday night and I have to go with the home team again ... Bangor, 27-14.

NORTH SCHUYLKILL AT MOUNT CARMEL - Spartans get an unusual win in the Silver Bowl ... North Schuylkill, 14-7.

BLUE MOUNTAIN AT SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - The Hurricanes have lost a couple of big games this season, but won't let their arch-rival take this one ... Schuylkill Haven, 28-21.

ALLENTOWN CENTRAL CATHOLIC AT EMMAUS - The Hornets have struggled at times this year, while the Vikings have had one of their better seasons in a while ... Central Catholic, 14-7.

ALLEN AT DIERUFF - Take your pick here. Allentown School District teams haven't been good in a while ... Dieruff, 7-0.

FREEDOM AT LIBERTY - Hurricanes cost me last week. Hopefully this week things will change ... Liberty, 14-7.

NORTHAMPTON AT NAZARETH - Blue Eagles made a believer of me last week. This week, they handle the Konkrete Kids ... Nazareth, 28-7.

WHITEHALL AT PARKLAND - The Trojans and Zephyrs, another rivalry end the regular season in Orefield ... Parkland, 17-7.
