Crashes probed by PSP Fern Ridge
Several crashes were reported investigated by state police at the Fern Ridge barracks.
A one-car crash occurred along SR715 in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, on Monday, Nov., 2, about 11:39 a.m., in which an elderly woman was flown to a Lehigh Valley area hospital.
Troopers said Joann Burns, 69, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager southbound when she drove off onto the berm and the vehicle collided into a tree. She was flown by medevac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for treatment of injuries.
A crash occurred about 5:10 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, along SR115 near Gilbert Road in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Kathleen M. Johnstone, 18, of Effort, was northbound and attempted to make a left turn onto Gilbert Road when her car was struck by a vehicle driven by Marie E. Meckes, 47, of Saylorsburg. No one was injured
A crash occurred about 7:55 a.m. on Oct. 29 along Neola Road at Running Valley Road, in Jackson Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Michael V. Decaro, 17, of Stroudsburg, was eastbound while Darrel W. Black, 61, of Pen Argyl, was turning onto Neola from Running Valley Road. Troopers said Decaro lost control of his car while negotiating a downward right curve and struck Black's truck. After impact the truck hit a rock embankment. No one was injured.
