November 17, 1951 Bob Higgins throws one touchdown pass and intercepts a pass on defense to help Nesquehoning gain a 13-7 victory over Blythe Township. Higgins hits Bob Kulrick with a 16-yard scoring strike and his 17-yard gain on a reverse sets up a four-yard touchdown run by Joe Fauzio. The winners, coached by Tony Mezza, hold their opponent to just 39 yard rushing and seal the win when Don Macenka picks off a pass late in the game in Nesquer territory.
